Understand the difference between a signal setting, a stored sequence and evidence of performance.
Frequency
Frequency describes the number of cycles per second and is expressed in hertz. Confirm the range and resolution supported by the exact generator model.
Programs and sequences
A program can contain multiple steps with different frequency, time and amplitude settings. A database count is not necessarily a count of distinct programs.
Version matters
Program files and supported settings can vary with hardware and software revisions. Ask for the database supplied with the unit you are ordering.
Keep a record
Back up your original files before making changes. For experimental work, record the equipment revision, connections, settings and observations so the configuration can be reviewed.
Check connections
An accessory may require a particular output mode or cable. Consult the manual for the generator and accessory before connecting them.
Interpret results carefully
A list of frequencies does not establish biological efficacy. Do not treat names in a database as proof that an organism is inactivated or that a health outcome will follow.
